Odin Energy Corporation makes available to its customers high-quality energy products made with advanced technology in its operations center located in Santa Marta, Colombia. Through its refineries Odin Petroil S.A. and Odin Energy Santa Marta Corporation S.A., Odin Energy Corporation produces and distributes petroleum products, biodiesel and is confidently progressing for including in its offer biofuels mixtures.

Biodiesel is a synthetic liquid biofuel made from natural fats as vegetable oils or animal fats, new or used, by the industrial processes of esterification and transesterification, which is applied in the preparation of total or partial replacement of petroleum diesel or gas oil obtained from petroleum.

Unlike the biodiesel, the petroleum products are obtained through a physical process, which is the atmospheric distillation. Our petroleum refinery has a distillation tower in which we process crude oil and produce fuels as the Diesel Marine, IFO 180, IFO 380, naphtha and Fuel Oils.

The mixing plant, as main project of Odin Energy Corporation, will perform the process in which will be mixed the biodiesel with mineral diesel (derived or refined from oil in different quantities) designated as Bxx, where xx represents the volume percentage of biodiesel in the mixture, for example B100 is 100% biodiesel, while B50 is 50% biodiesel and 50% mineral diesel. In this way it is gotten different mixes, everyone with its benefits or advantages, for example: B5, a mixture of 5% biodiesel and 95% by volume of diesel oil, has proven performance improvements, better lubrication and some emission reductions. Similarly, the B20, a blend of 20% biodiesel with 80% of diesel has demonstrated significant environmental benefits with minimal increase in cost.

The biodiesel can be used in ignition-compression engines (diesel) of with a few or none changes.
